Updated Mock Draft - 3/20/09

Detriot - Jason Smith OT - Rumors have it that despite Stafford's solid Pro-Day, the Lions are planning to take an O-Linemen with their 1st overall pick. Although Eugene Monroe is more polished and more NFL Ready, Jason Smith has the greatest potential and he should be near elite status by the time the Lions are back in contention for the playoffs.

St. Louis - Eugene Monroe OT - The Rams are almost certainly going to pick an O-Linemen with their 1st round pick with Orlando Pace getting cut. With Smith off the board. Monroe is the next clear choice.

Kansas City - Aaron Curry OLB - Although Crabtree may be tempting here, his health issues may scare teams away...in addition, the Chiefs have been a defensive laughingstock for the past couple years, and drafting Curry would instantly bolster that wailing Def.

Seattle - Michael Crabtree WR - Even with the addition of Houshmandzadeh, the Seahawks are reportedly still looking for an offensive playmaker. Crabtree would fit that and would make the Seahawks instant favorites to once again dominate the NFC West.

Cleveland - BJ Raji DT - The Browns's run Def is flat out terrible. Adding a big body to the middle will help that immediately, and Raji is the only elite DT in this draft.

Cincinatti - Brian Orakpo DE - The Bengals desperately need a OT to protect Carson Palmer, so a trade down here may be within sight. However, with Smith and Monroe off the board, Orakpo may help them with their pass rush.

Oakland - Percy Harvins WR - As long as Davis is here, flashy speedy guys will always be the pick. Harvins was a track star and with a fast 40 time, he looks like the pick here.

Jacksonville - Matthew Stafford QB - People in Jacksonville will be jumping up and down for this pick. Garrard has never been above average, so the best QB dropping down to the Jaguars makes this pick a no-brainer.

Green Bay - Malcom Jenkins CB - His Pro Day helped his stock slightly, and the ailing Packers Def will gladly welcome the shut down CB/

San Fransisco - Michael Oher OT - The 49ers desperately need an OT here. Seattle, a team whose pass rush literally died last year, got almost 1/3 of its sacks in 2 games against the 49ers. Not a good sign...

Tune in for the rest of the picks...3/23/09

My Mock Draft

Here's what im predicting happens in the 2009 Draft (1-5):

1. Detriot Lions - Matt Stafford - They need a franchise QB and Stafford is the best QB in this draft no doubt and is NFL ready. He wont turn this team around immediately but with a couple years of experience and good draft picks they may become a contender in the near future.

2. St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith - With Orlando Pace getting old, they need to beef up their OLine. Jason Smith shined at the Combine and showed that he is the best tackle in this draft.

3. Kansas City Chiefs - Aaron Curry - Kansas City has solved its QB problem by trading for Cassel...their DEF is now the big problem and Aaron Curry is on top of my board and with a good combine showing, KC will take him without fear.

4. Seattle Seahawks - Michael Crabtree - Even with the addition of TJ Housh, the Seahawks still need a deep threat. You can never have too many good WRs, just ask the Cardinals.

5. Cleveland Browns - B.J. Raji - The Browns have always been run over by run games; they need a big body right in the middle to stuff things up. Raji fits that perfectly.

Seahawks Sign TJ HOUSH!

TJ Houshmanzedah has decided to sign with the Seattle Seahawks after visiting with the Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings. The Seahawks and TJ agreed to a 5 year $40 mil deal with $15 mil guarenteed, according to reports by ESPN. The Seahawks reportedly offered Houshmanzedah $2 mil more than any other team. This fills the WR gap for the Seahawks, signing a veteran WR with a proven track record. Houshmanzedah had over 90 catches last year and has over 900 yards in 5 straight years.
